Endangered teen is found safe

A West Virginia teenager who was reported missing and believed to be in danger was found safe. 13-year old Michael B. Cheek was found safe at a home near the border of Jackson and Roane counties on Saturday, according to a news release from West Virginia State Police. The 13-year-old was found after troopers said they stopped his biological father, Michael A. Cheek along Interstate 77 in the Fairplain area of Jackson County. The teenager was reportedly last seen Aug. 30 in the Ripley area. Troopers said at the time the boy was believed to be in custody of his father, who did not have guardianship. Troopers said the teenager was placed into the custody of the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources.
