Civil Air Patrol helps teens learn to fly

Kids ages 12 to 18 years old who want to learn more about aviation can be part of the West Virginia Civil Air Patrol program. Cadets take aerospace classes and watch videos on the inner workings of an airplane and airports, and then take to the air on an orientation flight. For more on joining the Charleston program you can go to www.wvwg.cap.gov. The website says many of the nation’s astronauts, pilots, engineers, and scientists first explored their careers through CAP.
