West Virginia hosts a festival every September to celebrate the Mothman. Legend has it that the cryptic creature has been spotted several times in the Point Pleasant area, most famously for his appearance on the Silver Bridge just before its collapse that killed 46 people in 1967. The festival is coming up Sept. 16 and 17 and offers a chance to visit the Mothman Museum, see the Mothman statue and experience Mothman-themed vendors and contests.
