New metal plant is coming to Weirton

Around two hundred jobs will be created with the opening of a new metal plant. Boston Metal announced plans to build a new metallurgical facility in Weirton, with help from a $50 million grant. Senator Joe Manchin said in a news release that the new facility will be used to manufacture ultrapure chromium metal and high temperature alloys used in advanced energy technologies. The company will focus on local hiring for 200 high-tech jobs.
