Since the beginning of November’s gas outage, Mountaineer Gas has stood by the claim that West Virginia American Water was to blame after water was found in 46 miles of gas line after an apparent high-pressure water main break. The water company has stayed quiet during the outage, maintaining the company is waiting for the outcome of an investigation. On Wednesday, the company announced it would start filing claims for up to $2,000 for customers to sign a release agreement and settle.
