A Kanawha County man who pleaded guilty in the 2022 shooting death of a woman was sentenced to prison Thursday. Vestal Harper was sentenced to prison without mercy in connection with the death of Nancy Belcher in August 2022. Harper pleaded guilty to shooting Belcher in the front door of her home on Lower Donnally Road in Kanawha City. No information has ever been provided about a motive in the killing.
