Charleston woman found dead was beaten to death with a vase

A woman found dead inside a Charleston home on Thursday was beaten to death with a vase, according to police. 36-year old Lora Farley of Charleston was found dead inside a home in the 1600 block of Chandler Drive. 21-year old Izak Surface is charged with first-degree murder. She was found lying on a bed and wrapped in a blanket in an upstairs bedroom, according to a criminal complaint filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court. Surface and arrested him on an outstanding domestic battery warrant from a separate case where he’s accused of pushing his 74-year-old grandmother down a flight of stairs at the same Chandler Drive home. He was charged with first-degree murder for Farley’s death. If convicted, he could face up to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
