A man charged with the murder of a West Virginia state trooper is requesting that his trail to be moved out of Mingo County. Timothy Kennedy pleaded not guilty to the five charges brought against him on Friday regarding the murder of sergeant Cory Maynard last June. His lawyer will ask for a change of venue at the next pre-trail, which is scheduled for March 6. Mingo County prosecutors say they will fight to prevent the trail being moved out of the county with the high-profile trail expected set to take place in the summer. There has been no definitive date set for the trail, but the prosecutors say that it will likely take place in June or July as both the defense and prosecutors wait for key evidence. Charges were brought against Kennedy after Maynard responded to a reported shooting, at which point Kennedy allegedly ambushed the trooper and led authorities on an intense manhunt.
