A Jackson County man charged in an infant’s death waived his preliminary hearing this week and will have his case bound over to circuit court. John Michael Tames of Ripley has been charged in the death of his girlfriend’s infant, Everly. According to court records, Tames confessed to causing injuries that made the 3-month old baby go into cardiac arrest. She died nearly a month after the injuries were sustained. If convicted, Tames faces anywhere from 15 years to life in prison.
