Drivers in Huntington should expect detours and delays starting today due to light installation on the Seventh Avenue intersection of Hal Greer Boulevard. Work on the intersection will take place from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 26 and Tuesday, Feb. 27, according to a West Virginia Department of Transportation news release. Drivers heading eastbound should expect a detour onto 15th street to Sixth Avenue while those traveling westbound will detour onto 17th Street to Sixth Avenue. The project is a part of the Hal Greer Boulevard Renovation Project to transform the current median on the roadway from Third Avenue to Washington Boulevard with aims to improve safety on the road.
