Suspect is linked to two separate crimes

Investigators have released more details in the arrest of a man in connection with a death investigation in Cross Lanes. Billy Cadle is accused of breaking into two separate homes – one in Putnam County and one in Cross Lanes – and killing a man and four animals, according to a news release from West Virginia State Police. Troopers said they found two cats dead at a Poca residence Saturday following a reported burglary. Investigators identified Cadle as a suspect in the case and he was taken into custody. At some point prior to his arrest, troopers said Cadle allegedly went to a residence on Walnut Valley Drive in Cross Lanes where Michael Ols and two dogs were found dead. Investigators said the circumstances surrounding the incidents led them to connect Cadle to both scenes. Additional charges are expected.
