Education officials confirmed a school bus crash that injured multiple students earlier this month in Calhoun County is is now under federal investigation. The National Transportation Safety Board will look into the March 4 crash, according to Calhoun County Schools Superintendent Michael Fitzwater. The rollover crash injured more than a dozen students and the driver, Jeffrey Brannon, was charged with DUI causing injury and child neglect resulting in serious injuries. Eyewitness News reported that Brannon has since been terminated from his position with the school system. The wreck required extended hospital stays for some children on board.
