A new museum is coming to Mingo County. A collection owned by Gary and Margaret LaFever contains more than 12-thousand unique sets of salt-and-pepper shakers plus hundreds of cookie jars. The couple collected the items by browsing thrift stores and antique shops, and now they’ll share that collection at the museum under construction now in Merrimac, just outside of Williamson. A GoFundMe page has been set up If you’d like to contribute to the cost of construction and display cases. The goal is to open the museum this fall.
