22-year-old woman DUI faces charges after tragic accident

A wreck along MacCorkle Avenue in Kanawha County led to one death and a DUI arrest Sunday evening. 39-year old Joshua Miller of St. Albans, was struck by a vehicle near the Amadaville Memorial Bridge shortly before 11 p.m. and died at the scene of the crash, according to a news release from the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office. The news release said 22-year-old Alexis Moore, also of St. Albans, has been charged with driving under the influence and having an expired vehicle registration. The criminal complaint said alcohol and marijuana were found in the vehicle and Moore admitted smoking prior to the crash. Toxicology results are pending as the investigation into the accident continues.
