A recent high school graduate and standout athlete who participated in the North-South All-Star Football Classic has died. Keaton McDermott, 18, was killed in a crash Sunday in Barbour County, according to a MetroNews report. McDermott starred in track and field and football at Philip Barbour High School. He most recently participated in the North-South All-Star Football Classic for the North Bears. The teenager had signed to participate in track and field for West Virginia Wesleyan College in the fall.McDermott’s girlfriend was also in the vehicle at the time of the crash and was taken to a Morgantown hospital with severe injuries, the MetroNews report said.
