Cabell County Public Library and Greater Huntington Park get funding from board

Members of the Cabell County Board of Education voted Tuesday night to restore funding for Cabell County Public Library and the Greater Huntington Park and Recreation District. The first step will be getting an excess levy on the November ballot.. The Park District would get about half a million dollars. The library, one point eight million dollars. The levy failed back in May, but representatives from teacher’s union gave the vote a thumbs up. The West Virginia Education Association’s representative Lori Murray said, “I think we’re all heading in the right direction, as long as we’re doing this for the students we can’t go wrong.” Both the Park and Library boards will still have to approve the levy before it can be on the ballot.
