KCEAA get $1 million from state for 4 news station locations.

The Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority is on track to build four new EMS stations after additional state funding of $1 million was delivered by Gov. Jim Justice. This completes the funding needed to start the planning process for four new EMS stations in South Charleston, Dunbar, St. Albans and Marmet. The project in total will cost $5 million. Most will come from congressionally-directed funding from the federal level that will total $2.8 million of it. Now with the $1 million, the rest will come from what they typically spend to rent buildings each year. The four locations were chosen for the new stations based on call volume and proximity to the interstate, according to Kanawha County Commission President Lance Wheeler.
