Former Fairmont College player sets 2 records at Olympics

Perry Baker, who played college football at Fairmont State University, has set Olympic history in rugby twice during the 2024 games. Baker, from New Smyrna Beach, Florida, became the all-time leading men’s scorer in Olympic rugby sevens on Friday. He recorded his 10th try in the United States’ 17-14 loss to Ireland. Baker became the first man to score four tries in an Olympic match on Thursday when the USA thrashed Uruguay. The USA finished the Olympics in eighth place.
