Charleston lawyer earns a prestigious new role

A longtime Charleston family law attorney was sworn in Friday as the national chair of the family law section of the American Bar Association. Lyne Ranson owns a family law firm, Lyne Ranson Law Offices, and has been practicing family law solely for more than 23 years but has been an attorney for more than four decades. Ranson is the first West Virginia-based lawyer to serve in the position that is usually held by attorneys in much larger cities such as New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. Ranson was sworn-in by former West Virginia Supreme Court Justice Margaret Workman. She will be the spokesperson and the leader of all the family law attorneys North and South America.
