According to event organizers, 20,000 to 30,000 people gathered in Charleston for Multifest over the weekend. Fundraising for expenses grew from $250,000 to around $375,000 this year as the event expanded. The event began as a way to learn about Charleston’s diverse community and has grown to celebrate local businesses too. Some of the longtime vendors said they build relationships with other business owners and look forward to seeing each other every year. Multifest ended Sunday evening.
