Bill passes Charleston City Council decriminalizing marijuana possession

The Charleston City Council voted on a bill Monday that would mean no jail time for simple marijuana possession and the bill passed. Councilmember Chad Robinson co-sponsored the bill along with Councilmember Frank Annie. Under the bill, adults carrying less than 15 grams of cannabis would have no fine and a one-year expungement option for a first offense. Second and third offense would come with $250 and $300 fines.
