Three people were indicted Tuesday by a Boone County grand jury on charges connected to the apparent starvation death of a teenage girl. Julie Miller, the girl’s mother, along with Donna and Jerry Stone, the girl’s grandparents, are facing charges including murder by a parent, guardian or custodian by refusal or failure to provide necessities and child neglect resulting in death, according to Boone County prosecuting attorney Dan Holstein. The charges stem from the death of 14-year-old Kyneddi Miller, whose emaciated body was found at a Morrisvale home in April. Miller’s death has led to the investigation of practices and policies of West Virginia State Police and Child Protective Services in addition to homeschooling. Arraignment has been set for Friday, Oct. 18 at 1 p.m.
