Kentucky officials said a Letcher County district judge was fatally shot in his chambers by the county sheriff Thursday afternoon. Eyewitness News said the initial investigations determined that Letcher County Sheriff Mickey Stines shot District Judge Kevin Mullins. Kentucky State Police said Stines has been arrested and faces charges of first-degree murder. The Letcher County Courthouse is closed today as the investigation continues.
