Schools in Wayne and Jackson counties received a national honor this week. Kellogg Elementary School in Wayne County and Gilmore Elementary School in Jackson County were honored in the 2024 class of National Blue Ribbon Schools. Pleasant Valley Elementary School in Marion County was also included in the 2024 class that is made up of 356 schools nationwide. The Department of Education said Blue Ribbon schools are recognized based on student performance data including assessment results, student subgroup performance and graduation rates.
