An old church is being transformed into a lodge along the Elk River

An historic Kanawha County church will be turned into a two-suite lodge. The Corton Lodge in Corton will accommodate a maximum of twelve guests who will have direct access to the Elk River and four miles of hiking paths. The building was a Baptist church up until the 1970s when it closed. Each suite will have two bedrooms, a kitchenette, and a loft area for kids. Businesses in Clendenin are partnering with the lodge to draw visitors. The Corton Lodge will open next spring.
