The state’s newest therapy dog joins students in Calhoun County

Students at Calhoun County Middle-High School welcomed their newest staff member to campus this week. Coco, a male Chocolate Labrador retriever, will serve as the state’s next latest therapy dog as part of the Friends with Paws program, according to a news release from the Office of First Lady Cathy Justice.
Coco joins more than three dozen other helpful hounds paired with public schools in West Virginia. The news release said Coco has been trained to ease anxiety and break down social barriers.
