A Kanawha County man has been sentenced to prison after being found to be in possession of child pornography, according to prosecutors. 43-year old Jerry Dewayne Carroll of Crown Hill has been sentenced to seven years in prison to be followed by 20 years of supervised release. Investigators searched Carroll in April 2023 and confiscated a cell phone, uncovering 2,087 images depicting child pornography, including infants and toddlers involved in sexual encounters with men and animals. Federal prosecutors said a review of Carroll’s encrypted cloud storage revealed more violations. Carroll has been ordered to pay $15,000 in restitution and must register as a sex offender following his prison sentence.
