The annual Bridge Day draws thousands to Fayetteville

The New River Gorge National Park draws in visitors year round but the annual Bridge Day is when thousands pour in to witness BASE jumpers take the leap off the New River Gorge Bridge. Eyewitness News said Bridge Day’s 45th anniversary on Saturday saw jumpers from far and wide line up to leap off the over 800ft tall bridge before parachuting along the river below. This event attracts over 80,000 visitors each year. Bridge Day is held at the New River Gorge Bridge annually on the third Saturday of October.
