Machinists union members hit the picket line outside DOW Chemical in South Charleston Monday, and said they won’t stop until they get what they deserve.
The workers are demanding fair pay, claiming theirs isn’t equal to others in the Kanawha Valley. They said the company should reward them because they’ve held a safety record for more than six years running with no injuries, accidents or spills.
Eyewitness News said they’re asking for the protection of their right to take vacation on holidays, along with their annual bonus to match what DOW gives the non-union engineer staff.
