Monday afternoon the Wayne County Commission signed a management agreement with HealthNet Aeromedical Services to operate the county ambulance service, according to Eyewitness News. The agreement was made possible because Wayne County voters passed an EMS levy in May. Although the county will still maintain ownership of the service, the county is paying HealthNet $150,000 a year to operate the ambulance system. The two-year agreement will automatically renew every two years.
