Chad Scott is named the Mountaineers’ interim head football coach

West Virginia offensive coordinator Chad Scott will serve as interim head coach in the Mountaineers’ upcoming bowl game. Scott has served as the offensive coordinator for two years and has overseen the running backs for six years. He joined the WVU coaching staff in 2019. The move comes after former head coach Neal Brown was fired following a 6-6 regular season that ended with a disappointing 52-15 loss at Texas Tech. Brown went 37-35 in his six years in Morgantown. The Mountaineers will likely learn their bowl game destination next weekend.
