Charleston hosted the state high school football championships instead of Wheeling this year, and scored big. Families from across the state traveled to the capitol for games at the University of Charleston’s Laidley Field. Eyewitness News talked with fans who were comfortable with the setup and parking. CEO and president of the Charleston Convention and Visitors Bureau Tim Brady also received positive feedback from the coaches, players, and families. Nearby restaurants and businesses also got a boost. Charleston will continue to host the championship for the next several years.
