West Virginia’s ski resorts are ramping up for the season

West Virginia’s ski resorts are open for the season. Timberline and Snowshoe opened two weeks ago, and Winterplace opened last Saturday. The resorts benefitted from early snowstorms which dumped several feet of snow onto the slopes, and they’ve supplemented with man-made snow. The ski industry in West Virginia draws 800,000 visits every year and brings in $250 million for local economies. Canaan Valley is scheduled to open this Saturday, December 21.
