A man was injured after allegedly being shot in the chest by his son Friday evening in Kanawha County, deputies said. Reports of the incident came in just after 7 p.m. along the 500 block of Green Valley Drive in Elkview. According to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office, the victim is alive and coherent. One person was detained once authorities arrived on scene. Deputies said that it is believed that the man was shot by his son, but the motive is not currently known.
