The state funeral for former President Jimmy Carter, who died on Sunday at the age of 100, will be held at the Washington National Cathedral on January 9 which has been declared a national day of mourning and all federal offices will be closed as a sign of respect. Carter will lie in repose at the presidential library on Jan. 5 and Jan. 6 in Atlanta, then in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda. Carter will be buried in Plains, Georgia next to Rosalynn, his wife of 77 years, who died last year at the age of 96.
