Plans call for a new facility for Charleston firefighters

Charleston City Council has allocated 350,000 dollars for the construction of a firefighter training center and a second set of gear for each member. Eyewitness News said the Charleston Professional Firefighters Association is collaborating with the Charleston Fire Department and the City of Charleston to make this training center come to life. The Charleston Fire Department has more than 150 members, all of which are trained on a regular basis. A second set of gear for each member has also been already been funded by the city. An overall design of the center and location has not yet been revealed.
