High water conditions in West Virginia on Thursday ranged from nuisances to life-threatening situations for drivers caught in flood waters. Eyewitness News was on scene for the dramatic rescue near the Putnam-Lincoln County line after a vehicle was swept from a roadway. Rescuers from multiple fire departments used two boats and flatbed truck to rescue a woman along Route 34. It was one of many water rescue calls firefighters dealt with as small rivers, creeks, streams and low-lying roadways along with flood-prone locations went under after several inches of rain.
