The West Virginia Attorney General has joined a bipartisan coalition of 37 states and territories urging the Food and Drug Administration to act against producers of counterfeit weight loss and diabetes drugs.The coalition aims to regulate online sales of GLP-1 drugs, such as Mounjaro, Zepbound, Ozempic and Wegovy, directly to consumers citing that the ingredients are unregulated, from undisclosed sources and pose risk of contamination and inclusion of foreign substances, according to a news release from the West Virginia Attorney General’s Office. West Virginia joined the more than 30 states in support of the letter led by South Carolina, Colorado, Illinois and Tennessee.
