A suspect in an undercover investigation was fatally shot by Charleston police Thursday, officials said..The incident was reported about 12:40 p.m. near Rebecca Street and Washington Street West, according to a Metro 911 alert. Charleston police said they were conducting an undercover operation and attempting to serve a warrant on a suspect in a recent robbery and shooting on Grant Street when the shooting happened. Disnime Mitchell, 23, of Charleston was seen entering a Dollar General location and SWAT officers set up a perimeter around the building, police said in a news release. Mitchell was wanted on first-degree robbery charges. Police said they identified themselves and approached Mitchell when he exited the building. The man allegedly pulled a weapon, prompting a SWAT officer to fire at Mitchell. Officers said Mitchell was struck once and died after being taken to a nearby hospital. No officers were injured in the incident/
