FEMA opens a disaster recovery center in Williamson

A FEMA disaster recovery center opened in Williamson on Monday to help those who have suffered losses during the flood. Eyewitness News said officers are also canvasing the Matewan area to figure out who needs assistance in the community. They’re encouraging folks who live there and have had damage to register with FEMA in order to be considered for some help. No assistance is given without registration. According to a FEMA spokesperson, they have approved over $2 million for individual assistance throughout West Virginia. You can register for help by visiting disasterassistance.gov, by calling 800-621-3362 or visiting one of the disaster recovery centers in the state.
