A record number of people visited the New River Gorge National Park & Preserve in 2024, according to an annual report. More than 1.8 million people visited the New River Gorge, up from 1,707,223 people in 2023, and the National Park Service report said the increased visitation is part of an upward trend the last three years at the park. Parks operated by the National Park Service also saw an increase in visitation from 325 million in 2023 to more than 331 million in 2024. That total is the highest in NPS history.
