At a special meeting held last week, the Logan County Commission voted unanimously to reject an $81 million proposal from West Virginia American Water to purchase the county’s two financially troubled Public Service Districts (PSDs). The meeting was convened specifically to address the potential sale.
Despite the ongoing financial challenges and infrastructure needs facing both water systems, public feedback overwhelmingly opposed the proposed buyout. In response, commissioners expressed their support for giving the Logan County PSD Board an opportunity to stabilize operations and pursue alternative solutions.
