Charges filed against a man for robbing a Rand store last month

A Rand man is facing serious charges after deputies say he held up a local dollar store last month.

According to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office, 33-year-old Andrew Nomar has been charged with felony robbery. Investigators say Nomar walked into the Dollar General in Rand on April 19 and handed a note to an employee, claiming he was armed and planned to rob the store.

Despite trying to hide his identity, witnesses were able to give deputies enough information to help track him down. West Virginia State Police confirmed Nomar’s fingerprints were on the note handed to the teller.

Nomar is in custody as the investigation continues.
