Nitro hosted the third annual Metro 911 Pickleball Tournament last weekend, and organizers say it’s grown in just three short years. They started off the first year with about a hundred participants and now they have over 300 participants from 15 different states. About sixty percent of the participants are out of the Kanawha Valley, according to Eyewitness News. According to the Association of Pickleball Professionals, the mid-Atlantic region had almost 20 million pickleball players in 2023.
