Gov. Patrick Morrisey’s Office announced more than a dozen staffing changes this week. James Canaday has been appointed as the deputy secretary. Canaday currently works as a liaison with the West Virginia Governor’s Highway Safety Program and has more than 20 years of experience as a law enforcement officer in Raleigh County.
Dwayne “Chuck” Smith has been named the executive director of the West Virginia Parkway Authority. Smith previously led facility planning for Kanawha County Schools and was president of Quatro, Inc. Jason Huffman, of Kanawha County, was named to the Judicial Vacancy Advisory Commission. He was an operations director for the West Virginia GOP and policy analyst for the state Senate.
