The West Virginia Division of Motor Vehicles has issued a warning to residents of text message payment scams circulating the state. Scammers are sending out a “final notice” for unpaid accounts with a link to pay a fictitious bill, according to a news release from the DMV. The news release listed several bogus threats, including :Violations recorded in DMV database; Suspended vehicle registration; Driver’s license ; Temporarily revoked; Mandatory administrative service fees; and Legal actions and negative credit reports.
