Two inmates – a male and female – died at South Central Regional Jail within the span of a week. 33-year old Darrell Crowder died June 12 and 43-year old Alana Saul died June 17, according to a statement from the West Virginia Department of Commerce. Both inmates were found unresponsive and life-saving efforts were unsuccessful. The deaths remain under investigation by corrections officials and West Virginia State Police.
