A road-widening project in Cross Lanes Road has hit delays, causing backups and delays for area residents The project aims to expand Route 622 from Goff Mountain Road to the intersection with Route 62 and towards Andrew Jackson Middle School, with the end goal to reduce congestion and create a safer road.”You cannot travel in Cross Lanes and not face some sort of traffic delay especially right now when you’re down to two lanes because of the construction. There certainly seems to be an increase in accidents and an increase in tempers. There’s a lot of frustration right now and I’m hearing that almost daily,” said Del. Andy Shamblin, R-Kanawha.Shamblin said there’s been a of communication and no real answers have been given as to when this road work will be complete. “The original plan was all the utilities were supposed to be moved by May and that did not happen. You can drive through here and identify several poles that apparently there’s some dispute over who owns them,” said Shambiln.
