Two teens face charges for having weapons at Regatta

Two juveniles were charged Saturday night following an incident involving guns at the Charleston Sternwheel Regatta. Officers said they were made aware of a “disturbance” involving a firearm about 9:30 p.m. Saturday near Court Street and Kanawha Boulevard, according to a news release from the Charleston Police Department. While responding to the area, police said they saw three males running north on Court Street who were eventually detained and three guns were found. Eyewitness News said two of the juveniles were arrested and charged with being a minor in possession of a firearm and possession of stolen firearm and one of the juveniles was also charged with wanton endangerment.
