Measles is isolated but present in West Virginia

The Mid-Ohio Valley Medical Group looked into a potential measles case at their Vienna offices in Wood County last Wednesday. Eyewitness News said test results are pending. The possible case came as the CDC reported 1,288 measles cases across the country, – the highest in 33 years. Three people have died. Measles is particularly harmful to children under the age of 5, as they are at a greater risk of developing complications, accoridn to Kanawha County Health Department executive director Dr. Steven Eshenaur, who spoke with Eyewitness News. 92% of the new U.S. cases nationwide among the unvaccinated or people with unknown vaccine status.
